Recreation Center - Closed Labor Day

The Wytheville Recreation Center will be closed on Monday, September 1st, for the Labor Day Holiday. 

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING - WYATT REZONING REQUEST

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Planning Commission of the Town of Wytheville, Virginia, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible, on Thursday, September 11, 2025, in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building, 150 East Monroe Street, Wytheville, Virginia, to consider the request of Roger Wyatt for the rezoning of property located at 405 North 4th Street, Tax Map Parcel # 41A-1-27-8, from R-2 Residential to B-2 Business.

The request can be viewed at the Municipal Building, 150 East Monroe Street, Wytheville, Virginia, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except for legal holidays, as well as online at http://www.wytheville.org/public-notices. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING - POWERS SPECIAL EXCEPTION PERMIT REQUEST

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Planning Commission of the Town of Wytheville, Virginia, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible, on Thursday, September 11, 2025, in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building, 150 East Monroe Street, Wytheville, Virginia, to consider the request of Kenny Powers for a Special Exception Permit to allow a homestay use without the owner being present and to allow a use for a wholesale coffee roastery for property located at 640 and 650 West Lee Highway, Tax Map Parcel Number 41A-3-7 through 41A-3-14, in a B-2 Business Zoning District.

NEWS RELEASE

News Release:

Due to the Labor Day holiday, the refuse collection in the Town of Wytheville for Monday, September 1, 2025, will be made on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. The normal collection scheduled for Tuesday, September 2, 2025, will be made on that day. 

The Town of Wytheville’s Recycling Center located at 1025 South Third Street will not have an attendant on duty on Monday, September 1, 2025, due to the Labor Day holiday. The attendant will return to assist citizens on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Please note that when an attendant is not on duty, the Recycling Center's gates are closed, and items cannot be dropped off.

20th STREET BRIDGE PROJECT TRAFFIC DETOUR 2025

Please be advised that beginning April 29, 2025, through November 7, 2025, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, there will be a traffic detour in place in the area north of the 20th Street bridge. During the posted times, this detour will restrict traffic flow to the intersection of South 20th and West Jefferson Streets. All residents with homes located within the restricted area will still have access to these dwellings. All other traffic will be restricted to the area. The Town apologizes for any inconvenience.
